Internet cafes in and around Medjugorje that are
still open in corona times
If one wants to use Internet for extended time in Medjugorje,
using your cell phone outside the EU is expensive for contact with
the EU and wireless poses radiation risks, so Internet cafes (with
cabled computers) are mandatory. In Medjugorje one will find most
Internet accommodations closed due to corona and the limited
number of visitors these times.
However, if ones searches thoroughly, one can find some
accommodations that provide Internet.
- In Čitluk there is a Internet Klub
Alpha - Broćanski Trg BB, 88260 Čitluk, the municipality
under which Medjugorje resides. On the main street of Čitluk one
has to turn to the right, and on the right hand there is the
Basement Pub. After the Basement Pub comes a parking lot and on
the left of the parking lot at the far side there is Klub Alpha.
It is a gamers hall, with some 20 computers aligned in the dark,
with headphones and Internet browsers and costs 2KM (about 1€)
an hour, drinks and snacks available. Opening times from 7 AM
until late.
- From Alpha I learned that they were an improvement on the
gamers hall in Medjugorje itself! This one I found also. One
travels in Medjugorje the main road from the Church to the
Krizevac and one will see halfway on the right side a big
concrete sports court. Opposite on that on the left, there
starts a side road. To the right of this side road is a cafe
with WiFi, but they will tell you that on the left side of this
side road there is a house, where in the basement is a gamers
hall. And there is! Main entrance on the ground floor of course,
but mind your step, because the gamers hall is in the basement!
Some 8 computers aligned in the dark, with headphones and
Internet browsers, also 2 KM an hour. Opening times 9PM (!) - 5
AM (!) .
- From there I learned there is another gamers hall in
Medjugorje close to the main post office. When coming from the
church at the roundabout going straight, on the new road, after
some houses at the right side you will see a house with an
extended part. stretched to the front, to the main street. That
is the gamers hall. However the owner is working in care
facilities and it seemed wiser to him to keep it closed in the
time I was passing by (August 2020).
